Experience with Smart Lighting and Automation

Recently, I’ve been exploring the world of smart lighting and automation, and I must say, it’s been a fascinating journey! I’ve been using the Hue color bulbs with the Hue bridge, and integrating them into my Hubitat ecosystem has been a game-changer. The ability to control everything through a Pico remote is incredibly convenient, but I did notice something interesting—when setting a bulb to a certain level, it sometimes ramps up before settling. I’m curious if others have experienced this and if there are any best practices to optimize this behavior.

Another area I’ve been diving into is the integration of various smart devices. I’ve been trying to map new sensors to old sensor names to avoid rebuilding all my integrations, which would save a ton of time. I’m wondering if there’s a straightforward way to achieve this without starting from scratch.

On a lighter note, I’ve also been experimenting with LED strip placements. I’ve found that placing them under cabinets creates a warm and inviting atmosphere, especially in the kitchen. It’s amazing how a simple lighting setup can completely transform a space.

I’d love to hear from others about their experiences with smart lighting and automation. Have you encountered any unique challenges or found any innovative solutions? Let’s share and learn together!
