Experiences with PIR Sensors and Feline Friends

I’ve been experimenting with PIR sensors in my smart home setup, particularly the Wyze Cam remote PIR Motion Sensors. While they’re generally reliable, I’ve encountered some challenges with my cats. My feline companions are quite active, often jumping on furniture and exploring the house, which sometimes triggers unnecessary motion alerts. This has led me to wonder how others with pets, especially cats, manage their PIR sensors to minimize false alarms.

I’ve read that mounting the sensor sideways or adjusting its angle can help reduce sensitivity to smaller pets. Some users have suggested placing the sensor higher up or in areas where it doesn’t face the street, which might help. However, I’m still curious about others’ experiences. How do you configure your PIR sensors to coexist peacefully with your cats? Do you have any tips or tricks to share? I’d love to hear how others have optimized their setups to keep both their homes secure and their pets happy!

It would also be great to discuss whether there are alternative sensors or configurations that are more pet-friendly. I’m considering upgrading my system but want to ensure that any new devices are compatible with my cats’ curious nature. Thanks in advance for your insights and suggestions!
