Experiences with Smart Lighting and Automation

I’ve been experimenting with smart lighting and automation for a while now, and I must say, it’s been a fascinating journey! :star2: One of the most impressive setups I’ve come across is using GLEDOPTO GL-B-008Z bulbs with a HUSBZB-1 stick on HassIO. However, I encountered an interesting issue where the system shows two bulbs even though only one is connected. I’m curious if others have faced this and how they resolved it.

Another topic I’m passionate about is integrating different smart devices seamlessly. For instance, connecting a Wyze video doorbell to Alexa for notifications and video playback has been a great addition to my smart home setup. However, I noticed that when the doorbell chimes, it doesn’t record the event automatically because Blink considers it live view. Does anyone have a workaround for this without a subscription? :male_detective:

I’m also intrigued by the possibilities of using external MQTT servers alongside internal ones for remote control of home systems. For example, controlling a watering system for my grandparents’ garden from my own Hass.io installation using HiveMQ. It would be fantastic to hear others’ experiences and tips on managing multiple MQTT setups efficiently. :cloud_with_rain:

Lastly, I’d love to hear about others’ experiences with smart thermostats and heating systems. Specifically, how do you balance efficiency with comfort? I’m considering options like the Viessmann 200-W with weather compensation or sticking with my current setup using Tado TRVs. Any insights or recommendations would be invaluable! :european_castle:

Let’s keep the conversation flowing and share our smart home adventures! :bulb:
