Experiences with Wyze Outdoor Cam Motion Recording

Hi everyone, I wanted to share my experience with setting up the Wyze outdoor cam for motion recording. I’ve been using Wyze cameras for a while now, and they’ve been a great addition to my home security setup. However, recently I noticed that my outdoor cam wasn’t recording motion events as expected. It was frustrating because I rely on these recordings to keep an eye on things while I’m away.

I started by checking the settings in the Wyze app. Everything seemed to be configured correctly—motion recording was enabled, and the sensitivity was set to medium. But still, no recordings were showing up. I decided to dig deeper and looked into the camera’s placement. Sometimes, the angle or the surrounding environment can affect motion detection. I adjusted the camera slightly to get a better view of the area I wanted to monitor.

Another thing I checked was the SD card. I had an older card that I thought might be causing issues. I upgraded to a faster, higher-capacity card and formatted it properly. To my relief, the recordings started working again! It was a bit of trial and error, but it paid off.

I also found that the camera’s sensitivity settings were crucial. I had to experiment a bit to find the right balance between detecting motion and avoiding false triggers from things like trees swaying in the wind or pets moving around.

I’d love to hear from others who have set up their Wyze cameras for motion recording. Did you face any similar issues? What tips or tricks have you found helpful? I’m always looking for ways to improve my setup and ensure everything runs smoothly.

Happy smart home tinkering! :rocket:
