Hello everyone, I recently purchased an APC Back-UPS RS 1200G and have been experiencing an electric arc noise when the power cuts out and my computer switches to battery mode. I reached out to Schneider/APC support in Greece, and the technician assured me that this noise is normal. However, as an electronics engineer, I find this concerning, as it could indicate a potential hazard or risk of fire. I’m seeking the community’s insights to better understand if this is indeed normal or if there might be an underlying issue. Has anyone else encountered similar noises with their APC UPS? Additionally, I’m curious if there’s a formal way to escalate this concern with APC to ensure the technician’s advice is accurate. Any experiences or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
