Hi everyone, I’ve been having some trouble with my LED bulbs after power outages and I’m hoping someone might have some advice or solutions. I currently have 11 LED bulbs connected to my SmartThings hub, including a mix of Wemo and GE models. They’ve been working perfectly for the most part, but whenever there’s a power failure, it becomes a bit of a nightmare.
When the power comes back on, all the bulbs are on—even if the app says they’re off. Turning them off manually through the app works for most, but there’s always one stubborn bulb that refuses to respond. It’s frustrating because the activity log shows the commands are being sent, but the bulb just doesn’t budge. I’ve tried everything from rebooting the hub to network repairs, but the issue keeps recurring, especially after power spikes.
I’ve heard about others having similar issues, but I’m not sure if it’s a problem with the bulbs themselves or the hub. I don’t want to replace all 11 bulbs if I can help it, but the maintenance is getting overwhelming. Has anyone else dealt with this? Are there any alternative hubs or solutions that might handle this better?
On a slightly more positive note, when everything is working smoothly, these bulbs are fantastic. They’re energy-efficient and easy to control. It’s just those power-related hiccups that are driving me up the wall. Any tips or experiences you’ve had would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance for your help!
