Exploring Advanced Heating Algorithms for Smart Thermostats

I’ve been using my smart thermostat for over a year now, and while it does a decent job maintaining temperature, I’m curious about optimizing its performance further. I recently came across the concept of advanced heating algorithms, specifically PID control, which I understand can offer more precise temperature regulation compared to the standard Hysteresis mode. However, I noticed that the PID option isn’t available in my app menu—only Hysteresis is listed.

I’d love to hear from others who might have experience with PID settings or have insights on how to achieve similar precision with the current setup. Have any of you found workarounds or alternative configurations that enhance temperature control? I’m particularly interested in how PID might reduce energy consumption or provide more consistent heating.

If anyone has tips or resources on implementing or simulating PID-like behavior within the existing framework, I’d be grateful! Let’s discuss and maybe find a way to make our thermostats even smarter. :thermometer:
