Exploring Affordable and Compatible Smart Home Devices

Hi everyone! I’ve been diving into the world of smart home devices and have been blown away by the variety available. From simple switches to advanced thermostats, there’s so much to explore. However, I’m curious if there are brands that offer excellent functionality without breaking the bank.

For instance, I’ve been using NEXA 433MHz switches for a few years now, and they’ve been reliable, but I’m looking to expand my setup with motion sensors, door locks, and thermostats. I’ve heard great things about Philips Hue bulbs, but I’m wondering if there are more affordable alternatives that still work seamlessly with my system. IKEA’s color bulbs, for example, seem promising, but I’d love to hear others’ experiences.

I’m also interested in finding compatible devices for my Homey system. Has anyone discovered a collection or list of devices that work well together? It would be fantastic to start a thread where we can share recommendations and resources.

Another thought: while I love the idea of DIY projects, I’m not entirely sure where to begin. Are there any communities or guides that could help me get started? I’m excited to hear your thoughts and experiences! Let’s make this journey together even more enriching and fun. :rocket:
