Exploring Alexa Intents and Smart Home Integration

I’ve been diving into the world of Alexa intents and smart home integration, and it’s been an exciting journey! :rocket: I recently enabled an Alexa skill on my device, and while it’s working smoothly, I’m curious about how intents can be customized to make Alexa respond to specific commands or even handle tasks it normally can’t. I came across some configurations online and tried implementing them, but I’m not seeing the expected results. For example, I added an intent script to my configuration.yaml file to create custom responses based on device states, but it doesn’t seem to activate. I’m wondering if there’s something I’m missing in the setup or if additional configurations are required for the skill to work properly. Has anyone successfully customized Alexa intents and could share their setup or tips?

Another area I’m exploring is setting up a secondary device as a hub for my smart home ecosystem. I currently run Home Assistant in a VM on my Proxmox server, but it’s located in the basement, which isn’t ideal for acting as a central hub. I’m considering using a Raspberry Pi with dongles placed centrally to act as a hub for all my smart home protocols. I know there are options like HA bridges or integrations, but I’m not entirely sure how to configure this properly. Does anyone have experience with setting up a secondary hub or know of any best practices for this kind of setup?

On a positive note, I’ve been impressed with the new ComPacT NSXm circuit breakers I recently installed. They offer transparent covers for quick accessory identification, integrated earth leakage protection, and even wireless communication for proactive monitoring. It’s great to see advancements in home safety and efficiency! :bulb:

If anyone has tips or success stories on customizing Alexa intents, setting up a secondary hub, or integrating new smart home devices, I’d love to hear your experiences! Let’s continue to explore and enhance our smart home setups together. :star2:
