Hey everyone, I just wanted to share my experience with setting up audio notifications using my Sonos devices. I recently migrated my smart home setup and my wife has been asking for notifications similar to what our Vivint system used to provide, like door open alerts. I’ve got two Sonos devices that I noticed are being discovered through the Airplay integration. I’m curious whether it’s better to go through Airplay or fully integrate Sonos into my Hubitat environment. Right now, I don’t see a strong need for full integration, but I’d love to hear others’ experiences!
Another thing I’m exploring is finding the perfect sound files for notifications. I’ve come across some suggestions for attention tones, chimes, or dings, but I’m not sure which ones are the most effective. If anyone has favorites, I’d love to hear about them! Also, I’m trying to figure out the best way to write the rule to include these sound files. I know I need to upload them into the file manager, but I’m a bit fuzzy on the exact steps. Any tips or tricks would be super helpful!
