I’ve been diving into the world of Home Assistant automations and notifications, and I wanted to share my experiences and some tips I’ve picked up along the way. ![]()
One of the challenges I’ve encountered is setting up notifications for specific events, like when a window is opened or closed. I’ve managed to store the current temperature and adjust it when the window state changes, but sending a notification has been a bit tricky. After some research, I discovered that using the notify service within automations is the way to go. However, integrating it seamlessly required a bit of trial and error. I’ll be sharing my setup soon, so stay tuned! ![]()
Another interesting project I’ve been working on involves automating my garden’s watering system. I’m using a combination of temperature and humidity sensors, and I’ve been exploring different relay options to control the water supply. If anyone has experience with compatible relays or integrations, I’d love to hear your insights! ![]()
On a lighter note, I’ve also been experimenting with Govee lights to create some beautiful ambiance in my home. Their Curtain Lights 2 are a favorite, especially when paired with some of my favorite songs. They add a touch of magic to everyday moments! ![]()
