Hey everyone! I wanted to share my recent experience with setting up an automation script to manage energy usage in my home. It’s been a fantastic way to ensure that my devices don’t overload the circuits, especially with the new washing machine and water heater I recently added.
The script I created monitors the power consumption on a specific circuit. If it detects a high load, it temporarily turns off non-essential devices to prevent any potential issues. This has been a lifesaver, especially during peak usage times. I’m really happy with how it’s working out so far!
However, I did run into a bit of a challenge with device compatibility. Some of my older devices didn’t seem to communicate as smoothly with the system as I hoped. After some research and tweaking, I managed to find a solution by adjusting the settings and ensuring all firmware was up-to-date. It was a bit of a learning curve, but it definitely paid off!
If anyone has similar experiences or tips on optimizing automation scripts, I’d love to hear about them. Let’s keep the conversation going and help each other make the most of our smart home setups! ![]()
