Hi everyone! I’ve been diving into the world of home automation lately and have come across a few interesting challenges and successes that I’d love to share. First off, I’ve been experimenting with using Bluetooth tracking for my smart home setup. I’m running Home Assistant on a virtual machine using VirtualBox on macOS Big Sur, but I’ve hit a bit of a snag when it comes to Bluetooth functionality. I’ve read that passing Bluetooth from the Mac to the virtual machine isn’t straightforward, and I’m curious if anyone has found a workaround or a reliable method to make this work. It would be amazing to integrate Bluetooth tracking seamlessly into my setup!
On another note, I’ve been working with Philips Hue devices and have encountered an interesting issue. Out of 19 bulbs, only two are initializing properly, while the rest remain in an UNINITIALIZED state. I’ve set up the configuration correctly in openHAB, but the logs show that most devices aren’t being recognized. I’ve tried debugging by checking the logs and ensuring all bulbs are correctly configured, but I’m still stuck. If anyone has insights or troubleshooting tips, I’d be grateful!
I’d love to hear from others who have successfully integrated Bluetooth tracking into their setups or have dealt with similar Hue initialization issues. It’s always inspiring to learn from the community’s experiences and solutions. Let’s keep the conversation going and help each other overcome these hurdles!
