On another note, I’m really excited about the FPGA boards for Raspberry Pi mentioned in some of the posts. I’m working on a project that involves controlling stepper motors and binary I/O, and these boards seem like they could be a perfect fit. The second board, with its 16 binary inputs and outputs, sounds especially promising for home automation.
