Hi all, I’m Dirk, a software developer and architect working with IoT platforms in the housing sector. My professional background has led me to experiment extensively with smart home technologies at home, creating what I jokingly call a ‘machined house’ on its way to becoming a full-fledged smart home. My current setup includes Bosch Smart Home UP-switches, roller shutter controls, door contacts, and Philips Hue products, all managed through Alexa and IFTTT. I’m now diving into RaspberryMatic to automate shading with a Homematic light sensor, and I have a few burning questions for the community!
First, I’m curious about the compatibility of my Bosch Smart Home products with RaspberryMatic. Specifically, can I integrate their thermostats, light switches, roller shutter controls, and door contacts into my RaspberryMatic setup? This would save me from having to switch everything to Homematic if Bosch devices are compatible.
Second, I’m deeply interested in how these thermostats handle hydraulic balancing. I know that hydraulic balancing is crucial for efficient heating, as it ensures that radiators only open as much as needed. Do the Homematic smart thermostats support this, and do their Bosch counterparts behave similarly? If so, this could be a game-changer for optimizing my heating system without a complete overhaul.
I’d greatly appreciate any insights or experiences others have had with Bosch and Homematic integration or hydraulic balancing in smart thermostats. Let’s explore how we can make our homes smarter without unnecessary costs!
Best regards,
Dirk
