Hi everyone, I’ve been diving into the world of smart home integration lately and wanted to share some of my experiences and questions with you all. I recently got myself a couple of Reolink cameras, which I’ve set up on my Synology Surveillance Station. It’s been working pretty smoothly so far, but I’m looking to expand their functionality by integrating them into my openHAB setup.
I’ve heard about the ipcamera binding and ONVIF, which seems like a solid approach. However, I’m a bit hesitant about setting up the cameras on both systems as it feels a bit redundant. I’m curious if there’s a more streamlined way to utilize the streams already available on the Surveillance Station without overloading my openHAB Raspberry Pi with too much rendering. Has anyone else tackled this and found a more efficient method?
On another note, I’ve been experimenting with smart lighting automation, specifically with motion sensors and manual switches. I’ve managed to get the motion sensor to trigger the lights for a set period, but I’m struggling with creating a manual override that doesn’t interfere with the motion-based automation. It’s been a bit of a puzzle, but I’m determined to crack it. Any tips or resources you could share would be fantastic!
Lastly, I wanted to highlight the importance of respecting and protecting our oceans. It’s something I’ve always been passionate about, and I believe it’s a cause we can all support. Simple actions like properly disposing of trash can make a significant difference. I encourage everyone to join me in this effort and spread awareness within their communities.
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and experiences!
