As a new user of Wyze cameras, I’ve been impressed with their setup and video quality during the day. However, I’ve noticed that the night vision isn’t as effective as promised. My Wyze indoor v2 camera struggles to capture clear images beyond a few feet, even though it’s supposed to cover up to 30ft. I’ve attached some photos to show the difference between day and night performance. Does anyone else experience this, or is there a setting I might be missing? It would be great to hear if others have better results or any tips to improve night vision.
Switching gears, I’ve been diving into Home Assistant and recently encountered an issue with custom repositories in HACS. After adding a new repo, I noticed that the ‘Custom Repositories’ option was grayed out. After some research, I discovered that an orphaned repo (which now returns a 404) was causing the problem. I followed some steps to manually remove the orphaned repo, which involved editing JSON files and restarting HACS. It was a bit nerve-wracking, but it worked! I’d like to share the steps I took in case it helps others facing the same issue. It would be fantastic if HACS could automatically handle orphaned repos in the future to prevent this from happening.
Overall, while there are some bumps along the way, the community support and the ability to customize Home Assistant make it worth the effort. I’m excited to continue exploring and improving my setup. If anyone has additional tips or experiences to share, I’d love to hear them!
