Exploring Camera Settings and Automation Tips

Hey everyone, I’m diving into the world of smart home cameras and automations, and I wanted to share some of my experiences and tips! :package::sparkles:

First off, I’ve been experimenting with camera settings, especially the vertical flip and horizontal mirror options. I found that tweaking these can make a huge difference in how my footage looks. For instance, setting vertical_flip: true and horizontal_mirror: false gave me the perfect view of my garden. It’s all about getting the angles right! :camera:

On the automation front, I’ve been working on setting up motion detection around my house. The goal is to have lights turn on automatically when motion is detected, but I’ve noticed some hiccups with the system. Sometimes, the lights flicker even when there’s no motion. I suspect it might be due to sensitivity settings or maybe some interference from nearby devices. Does anyone have tips on fine-tuning motion sensors for reliability? :rotating_light::bulb:

Another thing I’m curious about is integrating multiple brands. I have a mix of Wyze and Shelly devices, and while they work well individually, getting them to play nice together has been a bit of a challenge. Has anyone successfully created a seamless multi-brand setup? I’d love to hear your strategies! :handshake:

Lastly, I’ve been exploring the use of automations for daily routines, like turning off TVs when I leave the house. It’s been a fun project, and I’m looking into affordable IR transmitters to make it happen without breaking the bank. If anyone has recommendations or DIY solutions, I’m all ears! :tv::arrows_counterclockwise:

Overall, it’s been an exciting journey learning the ins and outs of smart home tech. I’m eager to hear your experiences and tips—let’s keep the conversation going! :tada:
