Hello fellow tech enthusiasts, I’ve been diving into some interesting challenges with my Chromecast HD and Namron Z-Wave wall switch, and I’d love to share my experiences and seek some advice!
First off, I’ve noticed that setting the USB configuration to MTP on my Chromecast HD always reverts to Charging mode after a reboot or power disconnection. This is quite inconvenient as it prevents me from using ADB over USB. I’ve tried different cables and power sources, but the issue persists. Is this a known bug or is there a workaround to keep MTP active post-reboot? Any insights would be greatly appreciated!
Moving on to my Namron Z-Wave 4-channel wall switch, I’ve successfully included it in my Homey setup, but I’m struggling to access the individual channel settings beyond the first one. The only information I get is the battery status, which is a bit frustrating. I’ve tried multiple apps, but they all seem to have the same limitation. Does anyone know how to utilize the four channels effectively? I’d love to set up different actions for each button!
On a lighter note, I’ve been experimenting with reverse engineering a 433MHz remote signal. It’s a fascinating process, but I’ve hit a snag with Homey not accepting single-value signals. My signal description currently has an array with a single 325Us value, but Homey doesn’t seem to recognize it. I’d be grateful for any tips on how to format this correctly or if there’s a workaround within the system.
I’m also curious about others’ experiences with similar devices and challenges. Have you encountered these issues? How did you resolve them? Let’s brainstorm together and see if we can find some solutions!
Lastly, I’d love to hear about your favorite smart home hacks or clever device configurations. What innovative setups have you created that make your life easier or more enjoyable? Share your stories and let’s inspire each other!
