I came across a post where someone wanted to display the percentage progress of their coffee machine instead of just “on” or “off”. That really sparked my curiosity!
I’ve been using a coffee machine integrated with Home Assistant and it’s been working like a charm. The switch I set up sends specific settings to the machine, and it automatically turns off once the program finishes. But I can’t help but wonder—what if I could see the exact progress of my coffee brewing? Imagine not having to glance at another entity on my dashboard just to know how much longer my coffee will take!
I looked into the status bar option in Home Assistant, but it seems like it requires a separate card, which might clutter my interface. I’m really hoping there’s a way to integrate this progress bar directly into the switch itself. I’ve started tinkering with some code, but I’m still not quite there.
