I’ve been diving into the world of smart home automation lately, and I must say, it’s been an exciting journey! One of the features I’ve been particularly interested in is the door chime functionality. I’ve set up a door chime system with separate sounds for door opens and closes, as well as a siren for intrusions. However, I’ve encountered a bit of a hiccup in customizing these sounds. Despite selecting different sounds in the security settings and creating custom rules, the system isn’t distinguishing between the door open/close sounds and the intrusion siren as I hoped it would. It’s a minor issue, but I’d love to get it sorted out for a more seamless experience. Has anyone else tackled this and found a solution? I’d be grateful for any tips or insights!
Moving on to another project, I’ve been experimenting with monitoring power usage from my Wemos devices. I upgraded from OpenHAB1 to OpenHAB2 recently, and while most things have worked out smoothly, getting the current power usage from my Wemos devices has been a bit of a challenge. I’ve tried configuring them as things and using different bindings, but I can’t seem to get the power usage data to display correctly. The logs show that the devices are discovered, but there’s no data coming through for the power usage. I’ve double-checked my configurations and even reached out to the community for advice, but I’m still stuck. If anyone has successfully set this up, I’d love to hear how you did it!
On a more positive note, I’ve been impressed with how OpenHAB handles integrations and customizations. The flexibility it offers is fantastic, and I’m excited to explore more features as I become more comfortable with the platform. Whether it’s tweaking door chimes or monitoring energy usage, there’s always something new to learn!
If you’ve got any advice or experiences to share on these topics, I’d be thrilled to hear from you. Let’s keep the conversation going and help each other make the most of our smart home setups!
