Exploring ESPHome, Smart Lighting, and HVAC Integration

Hi everyone! I’ve been diving into the world of ESPHome and smart lighting recently, and I wanted to share some of my experiences and questions with the community. :rocket:

First off, I’m really excited about using ESPHome for my HQ Lawn Mower project. I’ve been experimenting with the XIAO ESP32-S3, but the range is a bit limited for my needs. I came across some boards with Bluetooth power amplifiers, but I’m not sure how to integrate them with ESPHome. Does anyone have experience with custom components or workarounds for this? I’d love to hear your thoughts! :bulb:

Speaking of smart lighting, I’ve been on the hunt for some reliable LED panels that retain their settings even after a power outage. After doing some research, I stumbled upon the Aqara Smart Plug, which seems promising. However, I’m curious if there’s a smoother way to connect existing sensors without having to re-pair them each time. Any tips on this? :star2:

Another area I’ve been exploring is HVAC integration. I’ve heard great things about the Sensibo Sky controller, but I’m not entirely sure how compatible it is with my SmartThings hub. Has anyone successfully integrated these two, and if so, what was your experience like? :european_castle:

On the software side, I’ve been tinkering with Modbus settings for my ION 8650 meters. It’s been a bit of a challenge getting them to communicate properly with PME via Modbus. I’m wondering if there’s a specific procedure or workaround to ensure smooth communication without protocol conflicts. Any insights would be super helpful! :hammer_and_wrench:

Lastly, I’ve been experimenting with Python scripts for home automation. I came across a script that uses entity parameters, but I noticed that not all parameters show up in the UI. I’m curious if there’s a way to make all parameters visible, similar to how other services display them. Any advice on this would be appreciated! :snake:

I’d love to hear your experiences and tips on these topics. Let’s keep the conversation going and help each other out! :handshake:
