Exploring EZ Dashboard Customization and Smart Lighting Integration

Hey everyone, I wanted to share my recent journey of customizing my EZ Dashboard and integrating some smart lighting solutions. It’s been a fascinating process, and I’ve learned a lot along the way!

First, I’ve been experimenting with the color customization feature in EZ Dashboard. While I was initially frustrated by the lack of RGB code input for tile colors, I discovered a workaround by using predefined color palettes. It’s not perfect, but it’s helped me create a more cohesive look across my dashboard. I’d love to hear if anyone has found a better solution or has tips for achieving consistent tile colors!

Speaking of customization, I’ve also been diving into smart lighting. My setup includes a mix of Govee and Fibaro devices, and I’m absolutely thrilled with how they’ve transformed my home. The ability to set custom scenes and automate lighting based on my routines has been a game-changer. For example, I’ve set up a relaxing dimmed scene for evenings and a bright, energizing scene for mornings. It’s amazing how these small adjustments can make such a big difference in daily life.

One challenge I encountered was with my Fibaro door sensors draining battery life rapidly. After some research, I found that adjusting the sensitivity settings and ensuring proper placement helped stabilize the battery consumption. It’s a minor tweak, but it’s made a significant impact on the reliability of my system.

I’d also like to give a shoutout to the Govee community. Their merchandise, like the 2023 sticker and pin set, adds a fun personal touch to my setup. It’s great to see such supportive and creative communities behind the brands we use.

Lastly, I’ve been exploring energy management features in Home Assistant. The new energy dashboard is incredibly user-friendly and provides valuable insights into my consumption patterns. It’s motivating me to make more sustainable choices and optimize my home’s energy usage.

Overall, this journey has been a mix of challenges and triumphs, and I’m grateful for the resources and communities that have helped me along the way. If anyone has tips or experiences to share, I’d love to hear them!
