Hello Wyze community! I’ve been thoroughly enjoying my Wyze Pan V3 cameras, especially their face detection feature. I’ve been using it as a motion sensor in areas where traditional PIR sensors might not be as effective, like my living room and dining area. It’s been a game-changer for detecting presence without constant motion, which is perfect for spaces where people might be stationary for extended periods. ![]()
However, I’ve encountered an interesting issue with my rules engine. I’ve set up a rule to turn on specific bulbs and plugs when face detection is triggered, but it’s been acting erratically. Sometimes it works seamlessly, and other times it doesn’t fire at all, even when the person detection is clearly registered. The rule is time-restricted, running from 11:01 PM to 5:55 AM, and it’s been pretty stable for nearly a year. I’m on the new rules engine, so I’m curious if others are experiencing similar quirks or if there’s a known workaround. ![]()
I’d love to hear from anyone who has successfully integrated face detection into their automation setup or has insights into rule stability. Have you noticed any patterns or solutions for inconsistent rule execution? Let’s brainstorm together! ![]()
