Exploring GE Simon XT and Vera Lite Integration

I’ve been diving into the world of home automation lately, and one thing that’s been on my mind is integrating my GE Simon XT security panel with my Vera Lite system. From what I’ve gathered on the forums, this isn’t a straightforward process, and many users have tried without success. The idea of having Vera as the primary controller and Simon XT as the secondary sounds intriguing, but it’s clear that there are some hurdles to overcome.

I’ve noticed that PurdueGuy and Bossston have been key contributors to discussions on this topic, but unfortunately, no definitive solution has emerged yet. I’m curious to know if anyone has made progress since their last updates. My setup includes a Vera Lite, two Simon XT keypads, and Nationwide/alarm.com for monitoring. I’m wondering if there are any workarounds or alternative approaches to make these devices play nicely together without resorting to a monthly service fee.

Another aspect I’m struggling with is pairing my existing Kwikset locks with the Simon XT controllers. It’s frustrating because the locks are already installed, and I don’t want to replace them just for compatibility. I’ve scoured the forums and documentation, but I’m still not finding a clear path forward. Does anyone have experience with this specific setup or know of any resources that could help?

On a more positive note, I’ve found the Vera Lite to be a fantastic device overall, and the Simon XT keypads are sleek and functional. It would be amazing to leverage both systems to create a seamless security solution. I’m optimistic that with some experimentation and the help of the community, we might find a way to bridge these devices.

If anyone has insights, tips, or even just encouragement, I’d be grateful to hear from you. Let’s keep the conversation going and see if we can crack this integration puzzle together!
