Exploring Govee and Shelly Integration for Smart Homes

As I continue my journey into the world of smart home automation, I’ve been diving deep into integrating devices from Govee and Shelly. Both brands have been fantastic additions to my setup, offering a blend of affordability and functionality that’s hard to beat.

Recently, I’ve been experimenting with Govee’s Sync Box V2 and Shelly 1L switches. The Govee Sync Box has been a lifesaver for syncing my smart devices effortlessly, while the Shelly 1L has proven to be incredibly versatile for controlling various appliances around the house. However, I’ve hit a snag with the Shelly 1L when trying to install it in a 2-gang switch setup. I’m curious if anyone has successfully tackled this or if there’s a workaround.

On the Govee front, I’ve been thoroughly impressed with their customer service and the thoughtful features they incorporate into their products. The Space Traveler series, for instance, has added a fun and futuristic touch to my home decor. Speaking of which, I’ve been exploring creative ways to customize my Govee rope lights, inspired by some awesome tutorials I’ve come across. If anyone has tips or resources for DIY projects with these lights, I’d love to hear them!

Another area I’ve been exploring is automation using OpenHAB. Setting up geofencing to trigger lights and other devices based on my location has been a game-changer. However, I’ve encountered some hiccups with the execution of number items, which I’m still troubleshooting. If anyone has experience with the Exec binding and number items, I’d appreciate any insights or solutions.

Overall, the journey has been filled with both triumphs and learning curves, but it’s been incredibly rewarding to create a home environment that’s both smart and personalized. I’m excited to see what new innovations and integrations the future holds, and I can’t wait to share more updates as I continue this adventure!
