Hey everyone! I’ve been diving into the world of smart home devices lately, and I wanted to share my experiences and some tips I’ve picked up along the way. ![]()
I recently got my hands on a Govee claw machine and a SmartLife RGBW Controller. While the claw machine was a blast (and a bit frustrating when it didn’t quite grab the prize!), setting up the RGBW Controller was a whole different story. I followed the instructions from erocm123’s GitHub to import the driver into Hubitat, but I ran into a snag with the IP address configuration. After some trial and error, I realized I needed to ensure the device was on the same network as my Hubitat setup. Once that was sorted, everything lit up beautifully! ![]()
Another project I’ve been working on is integrating my Govee products into a more cohesive smart home ecosystem. I’ve been experimenting with creating custom scenes using Home Assistant and OpenHAB. For instance, I set up a scene where my Govee lights change color based on the time of day—warm tones in the evening and cooler hues during the day. It’s been a fun way to automate my space without feeling too overwhelmed. ![]()
I’d love to hear from others who’ve successfully integrated multiple brands into their setups. What challenges did you face, and how did you overcome them? Any tips for someone just starting out? ![]()
On a lighter note, I stumbled upon a Govee meme thread and had a good chuckle. It’s amazing how a simple claw machine can bring so much joy and camaraderie among users. ![]()
Looking forward to sharing more as I continue my smart home adventure! Cheers! ![]()
