Exploring Govee Car Lights and Zigbee Network Solutions

Hey everyone! I’ve been diving into the world of smart home gadgets and wanted to share some of my experiences and tips. Let’s start with my journey with the Govee car lights. I’ve been using them in my vehicle, but I noticed that every time I turn them on, they default to music mode, causing them to strobe. It’s a bit annoying, but I managed to find a workaround by manually selecting a solid color through the app. If anyone else is dealing with this, I’d love to hear if there’s a way to set a default color mode without going through the app each time!

Moving on, I’ve been experimenting with Zigbee devices and had some initial hiccups. I tried adding a new CC2531 router to my existing network, but it wasn’t connecting properly. After some research, I realized that the process involves powering up the new device while the coordinator is active. The green light on the new router was my cue that it was trying to connect. It took a few attempts, but eventually, it worked! If you’re facing similar issues, patience and careful following of the setup steps seem to be key.

Another area I’ve been exploring is integrating Shelly devices into my setup. I recently connected a motion sensor to a Shelly-i3, but I ran into an issue where it detected a permanently closed contact even when the relay was open. After some troubleshooting, I figured out that the connection needed to be adjusted to avoid false readings. It’s all about understanding how the devices communicate and ensuring the wiring is correct.

I’d love to hear from others who have successfully integrated Govee, Zigbee, or Shelly devices. What tips or tricks have you discovered along the way? Let’s keep the conversation flowing and help each other navigate these smart home adventures!
