Hello everyone! I’ve recently installed the Govee Curtain Lights and I must say, they’ve completely transformed my space! I made a short video showcasing some of the amazing scenes they offer, and I’m truly impressed by their versatility and brightness. If you haven’t tried them yet, I highly recommend giving them a look!
While setting up my smart home, I came across a challenge when trying to create a toggle switch for my Chromecast radio player. I had two scripts—one to play and another to stop the radio—but I struggled to combine them into a single toggle button. After some research and experimentation, I figured out a way to make it work seamlessly! It’s all about understanding how to link the two scripts effectively.
Another area I’ve been exploring is integrating weather and astronomical data into my home automation setup. I’ve been using the Astro binding to control my blinds based on sunrise and sunset times, and it’s been working beautifully. However, I’d love to take it a step further by adjusting my blinds according to temperature changes. For instance, closing them when it’s too hot and opening them when it’s cooler. I’m still learning how to set this up, but it’s exciting to think about the possibilities!
I’d love to hear from others who have successfully integrated weather or astronomical data into their home automation systems. What tips or tricks have you found useful? Also, if anyone has advice on creating more complex toggle switches or optimizing device interactions, I’d be grateful to hear your insights!
Happy smart home tinkering everyone! ![]()
