Hello Govee enthusiasts! I’m thrilled to share an exciting project I’m undertaking with fellow boat enthusiasts at Lake Merwin, Washington. We’re planning a festive celebration for Christmas in July, and Govee lights are at the heart of this project!
My Vision
I aim to transform my boat into a floating light display using Govee Curtain Lights and other waterproof options like the outdoor neon rope. The idea is to create a dynamic display with three curtain lights, potentially synced or staggered across different sections of the boat—port, starboard, and the aft cockpit. This setup will allow for a versatile and visually appealing arrangement, perfect for our summer celebration.
Mounting and Design
I’ve been inspired by creative mounting solutions shared by fellow Govee users. My plan involves attaching the curtains to a plastic mesh that can be rolled or folded, making it easy to store when not in use. This mesh will be secured to a sturdy yet collapsible framework, ensuring the lights can be set up and taken down effortlessly.
Progress and Challenges
While gathering materials, I’ve discovered the importance of planning for scalability. I’m currently in the process of acquiring two additional sets of curtains to achieve the desired coverage. The project is spread over several months, allowing me to refine my approach and incorporate new ideas as they come.
DIY Spotlight: Curtain Lights Setup
For those interested in a quick DIY project, I’d love to share a simple setup guide for Govee Curtain Lights:
- Choose Your Location: Identify areas where the lights will have the most impact, such as entryways or focal points.
- Prepare the Space: Ensure the area is clean and free of obstructions.
- Install the Curtain: Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for attaching the curtain to your chosen framework.
- Connect and Sync: Use the Govee app to connect and sync your lights, experimenting with different patterns and colors.
- Customize: Add personal touches like decorative accents or themed overlays to match your event.
I’m excited to see how this project evolves and can’t wait to share updates as we progress. If anyone has tips or suggestions, I’d love to hear them!
Happy lighting and let’s keep the Govee magic alive! ![]()
