I’ve been diving into the world of smart lighting lately, and I must say, it’s been an incredible journey!

One of the things I’ve been experimenting with is setting up automations for my venetian blinds. I’ve been using OpenHAB for a month now, and it’s been a game-changer for automating my home. I wanted to create a script that would automatically open my blinds in the morning and close them in the evening. The process was a bit tricky at first, but thanks to the helpful tips I found in the community, I was able to figure it out!Here’s a quick rundown of what I did:- I created a group of blinds in my OpenHAB setup.- I set up a timer that sends an “UP” command to the group at a specific time.- After a short delay, the timer sends a “STOP” command to ensure the blinds don’t overextend.It’s been working perfectly, and it’s added a whole new level of convenience to my daily routine.
