Exploring Govee Envision T2: Installation and Camera Functionality

I recently decided to upgrade my home theater setup and came across the Govee Envision T2 camera, which seemed like the perfect addition to my LG C1 65" TV. The sleek design and promise of enhanced LED quality were truly appealing, but as I began setting it up, I encountered a few unexpected challenges that I wanted to share and seek advice on.

The installation process started smoothly, thanks to the included counter-weight design, which I thought would help keep the camera steady. However, once I started using it, I noticed that any bass from my sound system caused the camera to shake slightly. This was a bit disconcerting, especially since the camera feels quite heavy. I tried using different types of 3M tape to secure it better, but none seemed to hold up for more than a few hours before slipping out of alignment. Additionally, the camera heats up quite a bit, which I suspect might contribute to the instability.

Another issue I ran into was with the camera’s color saturation. While the T2 does have a slider in the Govee Home app to adjust saturation, I found that it didn’t make much of a difference. The colors still appeared overly saturated, which was actually a step back from the previous T1 model. I had hoped the T2 would address this issue, but it seems like it might need some additional tweaking or perhaps a firmware update.

Lastly, I was disappointed to find that the camera couldn’t be set up at the bottom of the TV, which was the optimal position for my setup. This forced me to mount it higher than I would have liked, which isn’t ideal for my viewing angle.

Despite these challenges, I’m still hopeful that there’s a solution. I’ve reached out to Govee support and am awaiting their response. In the meantime, I’m curious if anyone else has experienced similar issues or has found a workaround. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Overall, while the Govee Envision T2 has the potential to be a fantastic addition to any smart home setup, the current issues with stability, color saturation, and mounting options are a bit frustrating. I’m eager to see if these can be resolved, as I believe the camera has a lot to offer once these kinks are worked out.
