Hi everyone, I just wanted to share my experience with the Govee H600D RGBWW smart bulbs. I recently installed them and I must say, they’re absolutely stunning! The color transitions and brightness levels are top-notch. However, I ran into a bit of a snag when trying to integrate them into my openHAB setup.
From what I understand, the Govee binding doesn’t currently support the H600D model, which was a bit disappointing. I tried enabling LAN control through the Govee app, but it seems that feature isn’t available for these bulbs. I did some digging online and stumbled upon a potential workaround using the govee2mqtt integration. It’s a fantastic tool that acts as a bridge between Govee bulbs and MQTT brokers, which can then be connected to openHAB.
I decided to give it a try and set up a Docker container for govee2mqtt. The process was surprisingly smooth, and now I have full control over my bulbs through openHAB! If anyone is interested, I’d be happy to share the step-by-step guide I created.
This experience taught me that sometimes, creative solutions are just a few clicks away. It’s also a reminder of how amazing this community is—always ready to help and innovate. If anyone has questions or tips about integrating Govee bulbs, feel free to drop a comment below! ![]()
