I’ve been diving into the world of smart lighting lately, and I must say, it’s been an absolute joy! My journey started with a basic Govee light strip that only does solid colors, but it comes with over 20 preset scenes. I was blown away by how vibrant and customizable these scenes are, even though it’s a budget-friendly option. It’s amazing how something so simple can add so much personality to a room!
Now, I’ve also got some multicolor Govee lights, but they only have a handful of scenes compared to the basic strips. I’m curious—why is there such a difference? If the basic strips can handle so many scenes, why not the others? Maybe it’s something to do with the firmware or hardware limitations? I’d love to hear from anyone who knows more about this!
On another note, I’ve been experimenting with automating my bed warmer using a Shelly 1. It’s such a cozy addition to my mornings, and setting it up was surprisingly straightforward. I documented the process in a blog post and thought I’d share it here in case anyone else is interested. The satisfaction of waking up to a warm bed without lifting a finger is unbeatable!
I’d also love to hear about your favorite smart lighting setups or any clever automation ideas you’ve come across. The possibilities are endless, and it’s always inspiring to see how others bring their homes to life!
Happy tinkering everyone! ![]()
