I’ve been diving into the world of smart lighting lately, and I must say, my experience with Govee has been nothing short of amazing!
I recently installed a couple of their RGB LED strips in my living room, and the transformation has been incredible. The vibrant colors and smooth transitions really bring the space to life! However, I did run into a little hiccup during the installation. I tried connecting multiple strips onto a single 4-pin connector, but noticed some fading towards the end of the strip. I wonder if balancing the load by connecting the other end would help? Any tips from the community would be greatly appreciated! ![]()
Speaking of installations, I’ve also been exploring the integration of different smart devices into my ecosystem. Privacy has always been a top concern for me, which is why I was thrilled to learn about the Ikea Dirigera’s Matter support. It’s supposed to act as a Matter hub and Thread Border Router, which could potentially simplify my setup. But I’m still unsure about its privacy features and whether it requires a cloud account. Has anyone had experience with this device and can shed some light? ![]()
On another note, I’ve been using Pushover for notifications and would love to send messages directly to my Google Home devices. Is there a way to set this up within the rules engine? It would be fantastic to have a seamless integration for announcements and alerts. ![]()
Lastly, I stumbled upon a funny little detail in my smart home setup. My outdoor cameras started charging me to watch events from my SD card! It’s a bit ridiculous, but I’m curious if others have encountered this or found a workaround. ![]()
Overall, the journey into smart home automation is filled with both excitement and challenges. I’m eager to hear how others have tackled similar issues and what tips they have to share! ![]()
