Hey everyone, I wanted to share a fun project I’ve been working on with my Govee lights. I’ve been really impressed with how customizable and reliable they are, so I decided to dive into some Matter automation. If you’re new to this, don’t worry—I’ll walk you through it step by step!
First, I wanted to create a system that would notify me when someone entered my home, while also having a bit of fun with it. I’ve paired my Govee lights with a G5 Pro camera, and the result? A clever little setup that lets people know they’re being recorded in a playful way. I’ve attached a quick video to show it in action—it’s a great way to add a bit of humor to home security!
One thing I’d love to see in future updates is a black and white IR mode on the G5 Pro, as well as more control over the spotlight. But even without those features, the G5 Pro has been a fantastic addition to my setup. I’m also thinking about expanding this project to include more lights and maybe even integrate it with my smart speaker system.
