Exploring Govee Lights and Alexa Integration Tips

Hi everyone, I’ve been diving into the world of smart lighting with my Govee lights and it’s been an exciting journey! :rocket: I recently picked up the H705C outdoor lights and have been playing around with customizing their settings through the Govee Home app. I’m curious if anyone has shared DIY workshops or tutorials that I could tweak for my setup. I’d love to create a unique outdoor lighting effect but could use some guidance on the best way to approach this!

On a related note, I’ve also been experimenting with integrating Alexa into my smart home setup. I successfully set up the Emulated Hue component to control my thermostat via voice commands, but I’m still figuring out how to turn devices on and off seamlessly. If anyone has examples or tips on structuring the code for this, I’d greatly appreciate it!

Another challenge I’ve encountered is with motion sensors in my wife’s office. The lights often turn off when she’s working at her computer because the motion sensor doesn’t detect enough movement. I tried using a power monitor as a virtual presence sensor, but it’s not perfect. I’m now exploring alternative solutions like Away From Keyboard (AFK) detection on her Mac. If anyone has experience with this or similar setups, I’d love to hear your insights!

Lastly, I wanted to share how impressed I am with the Govee thermo-hydrometer I recently purchased. It’s been a reliable addition to my setup, providing consistent temperature and humidity readings. The app integration has been smooth, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a durable and user-friendly device!

I’d love to hear how others are tackling these challenges or if you have any tips to share. Let’s keep the discussion going! :speech_balloon:
