I’ve always been fascinated by how technology can enhance our daily lives, especially when it comes to smart home automation. Recently, I’ve been diving into the world of smart lighting, and I must say, it’s been an incredible journey!
Starting with my Govee lights, I’ve been absolutely thrilled with their performance. The vibrant colors and consistent brightness have completely transformed my living space. It’s amazing how a simple adjustment in lighting can set the mood for any occasion. I’ve even created custom scenes for different times of the day, which has made my mornings brighter and my evenings more relaxing.
However, there’s always room for improvement. I recently came across a GE Z-Wave lighting module (12718), and I was excited to integrate it into my setup. Initially, I went with the “dim on” feature, thinking it would add a smooth transition effect. But as time went on, I realized it was a bit too slow for my liking. After some research, I found a solution to set it to turn on instantly at full brightness. It’s such a minor tweak, but it’s made a huge difference in my daily routine!
Another feature I’ve been exploring is using Bluetooth detection to activate my front house lights. It’s a fantastic way to ensure the path is well-lit as soon as I (or my guests) arrive home. I’ve been working on a script using my Shelly Plus 1PM, and while it’s still a work in progress, the potential is immense.
I’ve also been pondering the integration of Google Home with my VeraPlus system. While I love the seamless integration VeraPlus offers, I can’t ignore the advanced features and ecosystem that Google Home provides. It’s a tough decision, but I’m leaning towards finding a way to make them coexist, perhaps using the HA Bridge. The idea of having the best of both worlds is incredibly appealing!
Overall, my journey with smart lighting has been nothing short of delightful. Each discovery, whether it’s a new feature or a clever workaround, brings a sense of accomplishment and excitement. I’m eager to see how this space evolves and what new innovations will come my way. If anyone has tips or experiences to share, I’d love to hear them!
Cheers to the smart home enthusiasts out there! Let’s keep the creativity flowing.
