Exploring Govee Lights and Smart Home Projects

Hey everyone! I’ve been diving into some cool smart home projects lately and wanted to share my experiences and ask a few questions. First off, I’ve been absolutely loving my Govee RGB lights. They’ve completely transformed my living space, especially during the holidays. The ability to change colors and effects on the fly is just amazing. I’ve even used them to create a spooky vibe for Halloween by adjusting the colors and effects. It’s been a hit with my family and friends!

On another note, I’ve been working on a Raspberry Pi project to control my TV’s volume via HDMI CEC. It’s been a bit of a learning curve, but I’ve managed to get it working by pretending the Pi is an HDMI ARC device. This way, my TV sends volume commands to the Pi, which then relays them to my soundbar. It’s been a fun way to integrate my old soundbar with my new setup. I’d love to hear if anyone else has tried something similar or has tips to make it even smoother!

Now, for the question: I’ve been tracking the time left for a bus using a sensor, but the value comes in seconds. Does anyone know how to convert this to minutes within my smart home setup? It would make the information much more user-friendly. I’ve tried a few things, but nothing seems to stick yet.

Lastly, I’d love to hear your tips and tricks for making the most out of your smart home devices. Whether it’s a cool project, a handy shortcut, or a creative use for a gadget, I’m all ears! Let’s keep the ideas flowing!

Cheers,
