Exploring Govee Lights for PixelArt Projects

Hey everyone! I’ve been diving into the world of smart lighting lately and decided to give Govee’s mini pixel lights a try. My goal is to create some cool 8/16-bit characters on my wall, something retro and fun. I’ve always been a fan of classic video game aesthetics, so this seemed like the perfect project to combine my love for gaming and home automation. :joystick::sparkles:

I’ve set up a small section of the lights to test out different patterns and color combinations. The results so far have been pretty impressive! The vibrant colors and smooth transitions make it easy to imagine these lights transforming my space into a pixelated wonderland. However, I’m a bit unsure about how many lights I can support at once without running into performance issues. I’d love to hear from anyone who’s tackled a similar project or has tips on scaling this up. :man::computer:

One thing I’m particularly excited about is the potential to create rotating animations, like a spinning coin or a Koopa shell from Super Mario Bros.. It would add a dynamic element to the setup and make the project even more engaging. I’m just hoping the lights can handle the complexity without lagging. Fingers crossed! :four_leaf_clover:

If anyone has experience with larger-scale pixel art projects or knows of any limitations with Govee’s lights, I’d really appreciate your insights. Let’s brainstorm together and see how we can make this project a reality! :rocket:
