Exploring Govee Neon Lights and Automating with Wyze

I recently got my hands on some Govee neon light strips, and I must say, they’ve completely transformed my space! The ability to customize the colors and brightness has been a game-changer. I’ve been playing around with the app presets, and it’s amazing how easy it is to create different ambiance settings for various occasions. The vibrant colors and smooth transitions make it feel like a whole new room every time I switch a preset. I can’t wait to fully integrate them into my home automation setup!

Speaking of automation, I’ve been working on a project with my Wyze door sensor. The goal is to track when a key is picked up and replaced on the hook. It works great, but I noticed some unnecessary repeat events when people fiddle with the key to get it to sit right. To tackle this, I tried adding a condition to ignore events if the key has been off the hook in the last minute. However, the automation stopped firing altogether, regardless of the time. I’m a bit puzzled and would love some advice on how to refine the condition to prevent false triggers while still capturing the intended events.

The Govee neon lights have been a delightful addition, and I’m excited to see how they can be further integrated with my existing smart home setup. If anyone has tips on customizing the neon lights or improving automation reliability, I’d love to hear them! The community support has been invaluable, and I’m grateful for everyone’s insights and suggestions.
