Hi everyone, I’ve been really enjoying experimenting with Govee’s outdoor lighting solutions. Recently, I set up some string lights with a control box and a Phantasy Pro plug. To add a bit of extra weather protection, I decided to use some outdoor outlet covers. They fit perfectly and seem to be doing the job well. While I had to give up the great music mode, the string light’s music mode was a bit too flashy for my taste anyway. Hopefully, Govee will introduce a sync feature soon to link my string lights and Phantasy in the future!
I’ve also been curious about how others manage their outdoor lighting setups. For instance, does anyone have tips on setting up a reliable outdoor lighting system that can withstand different weather conditions? I’ve heard some people use specific types of covers or even custom housings. I’d love to hear your experiences!
Another thing I’ve been exploring is the integration of Govee devices with other smart home systems. I’ve successfully connected my Govee lights to my Google Home setup, but I’m still figuring out the best way to automate them based on my routines. If anyone has a particularly clever setup, I’d be thrilled to learn more!
On a different note, I’ve been experimenting with creating custom lighting scenes for different occasions. My current favorite is a warm, inviting setup perfect for cozy evenings. I’d love to hear what lighting scenes others have created and how they’ve customized their setups to fit their lifestyles.
Lastly, I wanted to share a quick tip: if you’re having trouble with your Govee devices connecting to your network, especially if you’re using a mesh network like Google Mesh, double-checking the subnet settings can make a big difference. I remember reading somewhere that sometimes devices can end up on different subnets, which can cause connectivity issues. Ensuring everything is on the same subnet helped me resolve a similar problem in the past.
I’m really excited to hear everyone’s thoughts and experiences! Let’s keep the ideas flowing and help each other create the perfect smart home setups. ![]()
