Exploring Govee Smart Plugs and System Integration Tips

Hey everyone, I wanted to share some thoughts and experiences with Govee smart plugs and my journey in building a more integrated smart home system. First off, I’ve been really impressed with the Govee Smart Plug (H5080) and the newer Govee Smart Plug Pro models. They’ve made controlling my devices so much easier, and the energy monitoring feature on the Pro version is a fantastic addition for keeping track of my energy usage. However, I’ve been wondering if there’s a way to streamline the setup process even further, especially for someone like me who’s still getting the hang of all these smart devices.

Another thing I’ve been thinking about is how to integrate everything seamlessly. I’ve been experimenting with setting up automations using my Raspberry Pi with Home Assistant, and while it’s been a great learning experience, I’ve noticed that my Pi does get a bit sluggish, especially with all the automations I’ve been trying to run. I’ve heard great things about using a VM in Windows 10 or even a custom Linux build for more robust performance, but I’m not entirely sure where to start with that. If anyone has tips or recommendations, I’d love to hear them!

I’ve also come across some interesting discussions about Matter devices disconnecting frequently, which has me a bit concerned. I’d hate to run into issues with my system’s reliability, especially as I expand my setup. Has anyone else experienced this, and if so, how did you resolve it?

Overall, I’m really excited about the possibilities with Govee products and integrating them into a more comprehensive smart home ecosystem. It’s been a fun challenge, and I’m looking forward to learning more and sharing my experiences along the way. Happy smart home building everyone! :rocket:
