Automation Recovery After HA Restart
One thing I’ve been working on is ensuring my home automation setup remains reliable, especially after a Home Assistant restart. I’ve got an automation that locks my front door after 30 minutes of being unlocked, but I noticed it didn’t always pick up where it left off after a restart. After some research, I found that retaining entity states during restarts was the key. Now, my door locks reliably, and I don’t have to worry about it anymore!

For those of you new to OpenHAB like me, the Pages feature can be a bit overwhelming at first. I started with OpenHAB 1 and gradually moved to version 3. The transition from Basic UI to Pages was a learning curve, but it’s worth it! Pages offer so much flexibility and customization. If you’re stuck, I recommend checking out some tutorials or reaching out to the community for advice. You’ll get the hang of it in no time!
