Exploring HAOS to InfluxDB Migration and Smart Lighting Integration

Hello everyone! I’ve been diving into the world of home automation and have a few experiences and questions to share. First, I want to express my gratitude to the community for the wealth of information and support available here. It’s truly inspiring to see how many creative solutions and tips are shared daily.

I’ve recently completed the installation of HAOS on my Fujitsu Esprimo Q956, and while it’s been a smooth process thanks to Simon’s video guide, I’m now considering moving to InfluxDB for better data management. However, I’m a bit hesitant because I currently store heating data from my Viessmann system in HA and don’t want to lose this valuable information. This brings me to my questions:

  1. What happens to the data stored in HA after switching to InfluxDB? Will it be lost or can it be transferred?
  2. Is there a way to import historical data from HA into InfluxDB, or does this process happen automatically?

I’ve done some research in the forums, but I haven’t found a clear answer yet. I’d really appreciate any insights or experiences others might have had with this transition.

On another note, I’ve also been exploring the integration of smart lighting devices. I’ve noticed that while most of my lights are recognized correctly, one particular bulb isn’t being identified as a light source in the SmartThings UI. This is a bit puzzling since it’s the same model as the others. Has anyone encountered a similar issue or have any troubleshooting tips?

Lastly, I wanted to share my excitement about achieving a small but meaningful automation milestone recently. It’s been incredibly satisfying to see how these systems can enhance daily life, and I’m eager to continue learning and experimenting.

Thank you all in advance for your help and continued support!
