Exploring Harmony Hub for Smart AC Automation

I recently purchased a Harmony Smart Control hub, and I must say, it’s been a game-changer for managing my Honeywell portable AC. After some research, I decided to go with the Harmony hub over the Remotec ZXT-120, and I’m really glad I did. It’s versatile and integrates seamlessly with other smart home devices, which is a huge plus for me.

One feature I’m particularly excited about is the ability to automate my AC based on temperature. My goal is to set it up so that the AC turns on when the room temperature reaches 75°F and turns off when it drops to 72°F. Unfortunately, I’ve hit a snag— Harmony’s Triggers SmartApp doesn’t seem to support temperature-based automation directly. I’m brainstorming a workaround, thinking about creating a virtual switch that triggers the AC when the temperature hits the desired thresholds. It’s a bit of a puzzle, but I’m optimistic I can figure it out!

Has anyone successfully set up something similar? I’d love to hear your experiences or tips on how to make this work. The community’s insights would be invaluable, and I’m eager to learn from others who might have tackled this challenge. Let’s keep the conversation going!
