Exploring Home Assistant OS Migration and Device Integration

Hello everyone, I’ve been exploring the possibility of migrating from my current Home Assistant setup on a VirtualBox VM to an Odroïd N2+. While the N2+ is officially supported as a Blue platform, I have a few questions and experiences to share that might be helpful for others in a similar situation.

First, I’d love to hear your thoughts on whether it’s better to use Home Assistant OS or the Home Assistant Container on the N2+. I’ve read that both have their pros and cons, but I’m not entirely sure which would be more suitable for my setup. My current installation includes 55 devices, 18 automations, and 2 dashboards, so compatibility and performance are key considerations for me.

Another thing I’m curious about is backup compatibility. My current VM-based setup has worked well, but I want to ensure that my backups will seamlessly transition to the N2+. Has anyone else gone through a similar migration and encountered any issues?

On a lighter note, I’ve also been experimenting with integrating a Shelly TRV into my system. While I’ve heard great things about its stability, I’m still learning how to configure it properly. If anyone has tips or experiences to share, I’d be grateful!

Lastly, I’ve been impressed by the community’s creativity in DIY projects, such as smart doorbells and night reading lamps. It’s inspiring to see how many ways there are to enhance our homes with smart technology. If anyone has a favorite DIY project they’d like to highlight, please share!

Thank you all for your insights and experiences. I’m looking forward to learning more and hopefully contributing to the community as well!
