I wanted to share some of my recent experiences and questions regarding my setup, as well as gather some tips from the community. Let’s dive in!
First, I’ve been working on migrating my Home Assistant setup to a new computer. I took a backup of my Conbee2 stick, but when I tried loading it on the new machine, I encountered an error: ‘Loading Backup Failed.’ Has anyone else faced this issue? Any troubleshooting steps I should try? I’d love to get this sorted to maintain my current setup without starting from scratch.
Moving on, I’ve been experimenting with PID controllers for my heating system. I’m trying to configure the integral (Ki) parameter, but I’m a bit confused about how the cycle time affects it. According to some sources, Ki shouldn’t depend on the cycle time, but the documentation I found suggests otherwise. If my cycle time is 60 seconds instead of 1 second, should I adjust Ki? I’m not entirely sure, so any clarification or examples would be super helpful!
Another topic I’ve been curious about is the unexpected sports news updates from my devices. I’ve disabled all sports news settings, but I’m still receiving alerts. It’s a bit frustrating, especially since I’m not a fan of the teams mentioned. Has anyone else experienced this? Are there additional steps I can take to completely eliminate these notifications?
On the lighter side, I’ve been exploring some fun projects, like modifying Wyze cams with lenses for better video quality. It’s been a great way to enhance my home security setup without breaking the bank. I’d love to hear about any creative modifications or DIY projects others have undertaken!
I’ve also been looking into integrating new devices, like the Norklmes zigbee switch. While my Hubitat setup detects the device, it’s not functioning as expected. I’m relatively new to this, so any guidance on troubleshooting or setup would be appreciated. The community here is amazing, and I’m excited to learn more!
Lastly, I’ve been experimenting with scene automation for my lights. I’ve set up a few scenes, but I’m noticing some inconsistencies, especially with the under-cabinet lights not responding as expected. I’m curious if others have faced similar issues and how they resolved them. It would be awesome to get some tips on fine-tuning scenes for a seamless experience.
Overall, I’m really enjoying the journey of home automation, even with the occasional bumps in the road. The support from this community is invaluable, and I’m looking forward to learning more and sharing experiences!
