Hello everyone, I wanted to share my journey with home automation and how I’ve integrated various systems to create a seamless experience. My setup began with a KNX system, which I’ve been using for years, and it’s been a solid foundation. I recently decided to enhance it by adding voice control through Amazon Echo and OpenHAB 2 (OH2).
The integration process was a bit challenging at first, but with the help of the OpenHAB community, I managed to get Alexa controlling my KNX devices. It’s amazing how voice commands can simplify daily routines, like adjusting the lights or thermostat without lifting a finger.
One area I’m still exploring is controlling my IR devices through voice commands. I’ve heard that this can be done with OH2, but I’m not quite there yet. I’m hoping to dive deeper into this and maybe even share my findings once I crack it!
For anyone looking to integrate voice control into their KNX system, I’d recommend starting with OpenRemote and gradually exploring more advanced features. The community support has been invaluable, and I’m excited to continue learning and improving my setup.
