As a new user to the world of smart home technology, I’ve been absolutely fascinated by the potential of HomeKit to integrate and control various devices seamlessly. However, I’ve come across a few areas where I’d love to see some improvements or get more insights from the community.
Firstly, I’m curious about the possibility of supporting hidden Wi-Fi networks. I’ve noticed that many devices struggle with this, and it would be fantastic if HomeKit could handle it more reliably. Additionally, I’ve been exploring the integration of Apple AirPlay 2 with my smart home setup, and while it works for some devices, I’m not entirely clear on how to optimize it for all my speakers.
Another area I’m interested in is the ability to set different time zones for my Wyze cameras. I have cameras in multiple locations, and having them log events in their local time would be incredibly useful. Speaking of cameras, I’d also love to see better support for live video feeds directly within the HomeKit app, as this would make monitoring much more convenient.
Lastly, I’ve heard about the Advanced Virtual Devices app, which seems like a powerful tool for creating custom sensors. However, I’ve noticed it’s no longer available in the official store. Does anyone have any workarounds or alternative solutions for creating virtual sensors that can be controlled via HomeyScript?
I’d be grateful for any advice, experiences, or workarounds the community has to offer on these topics. It’s amazing how much potential there is with HomeKit, and I’m excited to see how it continues to evolve!
